Randy Dreammaker used actual service manual information to obtain the maintenance interval details on this page. A few models from Piaggio, the 2022 manual was unavailable, so the most recent year available was used. The interval information on this page is a reference to help provide perspective ownership costs only.
If you currently own a scooter you should refer to the owners manual provided from your dealer for actual intervals for your brand and model.
Service manuals include details about all checks, inspections and replacements that will be performed.
Some scooters have additional intervals in addition to these standard key intervals.
Some dealers and service manuals recommend a yearly inspection even if you are not riding your scooter frequently or within the estimated miles per year.
With the exception of the Piaggio MP3, the major service intervals for all brand scooters mentioned, have the longest intervals for their 300cc or larger engines. This means it may be cheaper to own and maintain these larger CC scooters beyond the initial purchase price investment, than a smaller scooter with frequent service intervals requiring belt and valve inspections and adjustments.
